In a loving send-up of the frivolously inconsequential stage musicals of the Jazz Age, a fan known only as Man in Chair gives a spin to the original cast recording of one such musical, providing the audience with amusing minutiae about the play and the players.

Mrs. Tottendale


The air-headed, proper, and bossy host of the wedding.

Mrs. Tottendale's savvy butler who is thrifty and stiff yet has an understated sense of humor.

Robert Martin


The dashing, ever-cheerful groom; played by matinee-idol Percy Hyman.

Robert's anxious, dim-witted best man who has Robert's best-interest always at heart.

The Drowsy Chaperone


Broadway producer who is desperate for his star to return to his show.

Feldzieg's dim-witted companion who has hopes of being a star.

Posing as pastry chefs, this duo is intending to collect from Feldzieg.

European self-proclaimed "ladies man."

The famous bride. Glamorous and talented star of Feldzieg's Follies.

Janet's alcoholic confidante and friend.

The brave and brash female aviator who, by chance, is recruited to perform the wedding.

Please prepare a thirty second to one-minute comic monologue AND 36 bars of a song in the style of the show.

Rehearsals are Dec. 26 - Feb.7, Monday through Thursday from 6 to 10 pm.
